WHF Group contracted Signature Painters to complete all exterior and interior painting for the new Supa IGA Mt Cotton, along with painting the exterior of seven adjacent tenants in the Mt Cotton Centre.
Relocating to a new site as part of an expansion of the shopping complex, the supermarket desired a contemporary colour palette that complemented the Supa IGA branding. This was successfully achieved and we were selected as a finalist in the Master Painters Queensland’s Awards for Excellence 2020 for our high-quality work on this development, along with the neighbouring Mt Cotton Childcare Centre. After thorough preparation, a striking combination of black, grey, red and white paintwork was used for the external tilt panels walls, using Taubmans All Weather and Dulux Weathershield Exterior for a durable and long-lasting finish. The multiple colour scheme presented some challenges, but was executed with precision by our expert team with the help of an electric knuckle boom lift.
Inside the Supa IGA, all interior surfaces were firstly carefully prepared and then painted with high-quality Dulux paints to ensure a smooth and hard-wearing finish. The whole ceiling was spray finished to ensure there was no sheen inconsistency with the black paint, however achieving the even finish without any spray burn was made challenging by the amount of people on the floor. Epoxy floors were also added throughout the IGA shopping centre and the public toilets.
The finished product was a unique and contemporary extension of the Mt Cotton Centre, with a complementary brand-new childcare centre. The entire project was executed to a high standard over a span of 16 months.
