Frequently Asked Questions

Your FAQs Answered

Questions about our residential painting services? Scroll through the FAQs below and you may find the answer.

Why are your prices higher than some?

Assuming you’re comparing us to other reputable painters who are members of the Master Painters Association (MPA), differences in quotes are often related to the amount of surface preparation a painter will perform. Done correctly, surface preparation is very detailed, time-consuming work which can take around half the total time required for the entire job. Differences in the quality of products used, painters’ skills, insurances and warranties offered can also affect the price.

Our quotations reflect the meticulous preparation we undertake to ensure a top-quality job that lasts. We are fully insured, use only experienced painters and premium paints, and warranty our work for 8 years. When you compare our prices to those of painters with similar credentials and products, you’ll find us very competitive.

What does your 8-year warranty cover?

Our 8-year workmanship warranty means that we guarantee no flaking or peeling paint for 8 years or we will come back and fix it. Naturally, our warranty won’t cover damage done to paintwork through no fault of our own, for example through a structural water leakage or a car scraping the side of your house. While paint fading is not warrantied, we can recommend colours that are more heat reflective, fade less or show less dirt if your home has a challenging aspect or location.

Are your painters licensed and insured?

Yes. Our tradesmen carry the necessary insurance to protect both our team members and our customers in case some untoward incident happens during the course of the project. We also have stringent OH&S practices in place.

How do you ensure your painters do a quality job?

We assign our own highly-skilled and experienced residential painters to work on each painting job from start to finish, along with a senior residential painter who ensures that each team member delivers a high standard of workmanship. When we are near the end of your job, we ask you to take a walk around with us, and we’ll take care of any touch-ups if needed. At the end of the project, we’ll ask you to complete a client review form and take any action necessary to ensure your complete satisfaction.

How do you handle lead paint?

We are very safety conscious when removing lead paint from a home and have several safe removal options available, including paint stripping, wet sanding and vacuuming. We assess each project and the associated risks to offer you the best solution for your budget, and always safely dispose of all waste materials.

Do you offer colour consulting?

Yes. We believe colour can a make the difference between a home you like or one you truly love, so we include a complimentary colour consultation and digital ‘colour overlay’ with every full interior or exterior repaint.

What kind of paint do you use?

We use many different paint types and products because each job is different. However, we use only premium brands such as Dulux, Taubmans and Resene. We are happy to work with your preferred brand and can also recommend the best paint for your project’s requirements.

How long does it take to paint a Queenslander?

The average-sized home typically takes anywhere between three and four weeks to prep and paint. Very large homes or extensive restorations where we need to remove multiple existing coatings can take up to four weeks longer.

How will my property be protected from paint?

As part of our preparation, all items and or surfaces that are not to be painted are covered with clean canvas drop sheets or plastic sheets, or moved from the area (and later replaced), or otherwise protected.

Should someone be home during the painting process?

It’s great if you’re home at least some of the time so we may answer any questions you have. If you’re unable to be home, we’ll make special arrangements with you. We’ll have a senior residential painter onsite to ensure a smooth process and our staff understand that taking care of your property is a high priority. We prefer owners to be home at the completion of the job so we can go through our close-out process to ensure your complete satisfaction.

What is your COVID-19 policy?

Our painters are encouraged to take general hygienic precautions to keep everybody safe from the spread of COVID-19 while they are working on residential homes. COVID-safe hygiene practices are in place, and sanitiser wipes are available to wipe down surfaces such as door and window furniture etc on completion. We strongly encourage our painters to inform us if they, or a member of their family, has been to a COVID-19 exposure site. If a painter is showing flu-like systems, they are taken off painting projects immediately.
